I created a brand and designed an app for M&G Apps that empowers safety. The user can use a variety of voice commands to trigger a chain reaction to take place. First, the user's location is sent to a preset list of trusted contacts. Then, a location tracker is enabled. Lastly, the user can choose if the police are contacted. These three actions take place in the blink of an eye after the trigger has been initiated.
Brief: M&G Apps approached me and said that after a few rounds of user tests, the feedback was fairly unanimous. The app idea would be useful, but the poor app design and difficult UX/UI isn't reflective of the quality concept. The task was to bridge the gap from quality design to an app that empowers safety.
Challenge: Understand the target audience on a deep level and design an app and experience that will be foolproof and functional when it matters most.
